RECREATION: Neighborhood Evening Walk

Merry Christmas! We all have that one house nearby us that goes a bit overboard, or a lot overboard on Christmas lights. Take a stroll this evening or some evening this week and let the Christmas lights direct your mind's attention to the light of Christ Jesus. Fix your mind on the truths of God's Word, especially the truth of the Word made flesh, rather than the light emanating from Christmas lights. May the light of God's Word illumine your hearts and minds this Christmas to see and savor the glory, beauty, and excellency of Christ. He is the light of the world!

Whether Christmas tree shopping, walking amidst a pine grove, or skiing a path through snow covered pines, this season is the perfect time to meditate on pine trees. So grab your winter jacket, boots, hat and gloves, and get outside for a hike. Or, grab your Bible, a cup of coffee, and cozy up on the couch in front of your Christmas tree for some consideration of all the ways these special emblems reveal truths about God, his character, and God's people.
