Jesus' life, death, and resurrection unfolded under the rule of the Roman Empire, whose military, economic, and social control amounted to the biggest empire the world had ever seen. Into this repressive environment, Jesus-followers instituted 'Love Feasts' - weekly meals where the sacrificial love of Jesus was remembered, practiced, and subversively chosen by those who sought a new way of being in the world.

Our new series on the experience of Holy Communion and it's implications for our everyday lives. Four weeks beginning on April 23 at Salt House. NEW SERIES - "AT THE TABLE" BEGINS APRIL 23 Jesus didn’t give us a list of things to talk about, but gave us a meal to share. It makes sense that the first thing the world knew about Christians was that they ate together. And don’t we want to be known for this, too? For four weeks, we’ll gather around the Table, the mystery of Holy Communion, to explore and remember what Jesus http://did.we’ll celebrate how the holiness of Jesus’ table echoes into all the tables we share with others. Because we want to be known as people who eat together – and because good and sacred things happen when we do.
