Zeathea Armstrong: 1918 - 2017

Beloved CEM Board member

June 22, 2017 • The Rock Radio Network

Our beloved Aunt Zeathea is now with the Lord at almost 100 years of age (March 23, 1918 – June 17, 2017). She was born in New York of parents from Barbados, and studied to become a pharmacist. She moved to St. Thomas where she opened the Virgin Island Apothecary. Miss Armstrong had a burden for the souls of young people and the Lord led her to establish the Teenagers’ Bible Club. She was known for helping anyone who was involved in evangelistic outreaches. Over the years this outstanding woman of God served on many Boards and Committees, one of which was our Calvary Evangelistic Mission’s Board of Directors. She brought a wise and unique perspective to our ministry throughout her tenure: 1990 until she could no longer serve and became an Honorary Board Member. She shared her birthday with CEM’s founder, Don Luttrell, who called her his ‘twin sister’. She was truly an ‘Aunt’ to the Luttrell siblings and the CEM staff, and was an encourager to them until the end. What an example to emulate. There is truly a great reunion in Heaven as she reunites with her family, friends and those she has led to Jesus throughout her life. She was in sound mind and body till the very end, calling us only a few weeks ago to invite us to her soon-to-come 100th birthday party.

Viewing time is from 5 to 6 PM at Turnbulls on June 26, 2017, the at First Wesleyan Holiness Church, Content St. Thomas, from 8 to 10 AM June 27. The funeral service will be 10:00 AM June 27 in the church. All who knew and loved our dear “Aunt Zeathea” are welcome.
