Has anyone greeted you Happy Ascension Day? Most likely not. Most people don't even know there is such a thing, much less celebrate it. The ascension of Jesus is one of the most important doctrines of the Christian faith and yet many do not know about it or understand its true implications.

Many people are dreaming of going to heaven someday. But the Bible doesn't really talk much about going to heaven. Instead, it talks more about the return of Jesus. Why is that? Why are the first followers of Christ, the early church, and much more after them, more interested in the return of Jesus? In the last chapter of the Book of Revelation, it says, "He who testifies to these things says, 'Yes, I am coming soon.' Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.”

But it is sad when believers themselves only know about what Jesus said and did 2,000 years ago! In fact, it's not only sad; it's also detrimental. How can the church become relevant if we're only talking about what Jesus said and did in the past? How can we influence the world if we don't know what Jesus is doing right now?
