Why does God not answer my prayer for healing?

Those who pray for healing believe that God can and will heal if we ask with sincere faith. After all, faith is what truly matters with God. But why is it that sometimes God does not answer our prayer for healing even though we ask for it by faith? People have been struggling with this question for a long time. It deserves a biblical but compassionate answer.

Is there hope?

We can know everything there is to know about healing. But in the end, we still suffer. There is still pain. There is still sickness and death. Add to that are the many other losses we also experience. Loss of jobs. Loss of a dream. Loss of a relationship. Loss of a ministry. We grieve because of all these losses. Is there hope?

What if I'm not sick?

Most of us would naturally think of Jesus when we are sick. But what if we are not sick? Most people will have no interest in Jesus and His call for discipleship if everything is going well. But once they get sick, they suddenly change. At the same time, once they get healed, they go back to the same mindset. Why?

What matters most when we are -- or someone else we care about is -- sick or dying? Obviously, the answer is healing. What matters most when our mortality is being threatened is to find deliverance from whatever it is that is threatening us! We want to be healed at whatever the cost. We will look for ways and means to find our healing. We will try anything or go see anyone. Nothing will stop us. This is only natural since health is so important to us. Health is wealth, as we say. But is it the most important thing really?
