You do not have, because you do not ask God." - James 4:2 (NIV) 100% of your un-prayed prayers go on answered. "One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” - Luke 11:1 (NIV) 1.) Powerful Prayer is the source of a power filled life. - A Certain Place "When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened [22] and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” - Luke 3:21-22 (NIV) - Heaven Was Opened! "One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. [13] When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles:" - Luke 6:12-13 (NIV) - As the crowds got larger and larger Jesus prayed more and more. "Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. [16] But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed." - Luke 5:15-16 (NIV) **If you want people to see who Christ is, pray they see him in your life. "Once when Jesus was praying in private and his disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say I am?” - Luke 9:18 (NIV) “Your life as a Christian should make nonbelievers question their disbelief in God.” - Dietrich Bonhoeffer "As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning." - Luke 9:29 (NIV) - As he prayed the glory on the inside became the glory on the outside. **Giving yourself to prayer is the key to our power filled life. "Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed." - Mark 1:35 (NIV) 2.) Powerful prayer is based on our relationship with God as our Father. "He said to them, “When you pray, say: “‘Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come." - Luke 11:2 (NIV) “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name," - Matthew 6:9 (NIV) [23] “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. [24] “Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full." - John 16:23-24 (NKJV) "For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” [16] The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, [17] and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together." - Romans 8:15-17 (NKJV) "He said to them, “When you pray, say: “‘Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come." - Luke 11:2 (NIV) “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? [12] Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? [13] If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” - Luke 11:11-13 (NIV) 3.) Powerful prayer is the key to seeing God‘s will done.
