S.O.A.P is a simple method of reading the Bible!

All you need is a Bible, a pen, and a journal.

When you SOAP, only do one chapter at a time, so that you won't be overwhelmed by what you're reading. Be sure to write every step down in your journal, so you can look back at what God has spoken to you in the past.

S: Take time reading each passage and allow God to speak to you. Look for a verse that particularly spoke to you and write it in your journal.

O: What do you think God is saying to you in this Scripture? Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and reveal Jesus to you. Paraphrase and write this Scripture down in your own words in your journal.

A: Personalize what you have read by asking yourself how it applies to your life right now. Write down how this Scripture can apply to you today.

P: This can be as simple as asking God to help you use this Scripture, or it may be a greater insight on what He may be revealing to you. Write down your prayer in your journal.
