a. He suffers on our behalf! (Peter 2:24)

b. He suffers because it is central to God’s plan (Isaiah 53:3)

2. Jesus does this by exchanging places with us. (Romans 5:6-9)

3. Jesus does this by empowering us. (John 14:26-27)
