Creating a safe space to discuss gender and sexuality issues remains an essential topic for Richmond Hill Christian Community Church. We are committed to approaching this topic with wisdom and care in our teaching and discernment for the sake of the Gospel. Over the last few weeks, however, we have realized that our approach requires more thought, discussion and prayer. 

We recognize that the communication around this weekend event could have been clearer, and we apologize for any confusion. We are learning from this experience and will take greater care in preparing our community for conversations on complex issues like these. 

Through many conversations, prayer, and discernment, we have decided to adjust our approach to the program. Initially, Dr. Greg Coles was scheduled to speak with our youth on Friday, lead two sessions for parents and the community on Saturday, and speak to our Bayview English site on Sunday morning.  

We have modified our programs so that Dr. Greg Coles will speak to Adult Youth Coaches on Friday evening and continue to speak on our two Saturday sessions while Pastor Ho-Ming and Pastor Shu-Ling will speak first to our church, especially to our youth on Friday and also preach on Sunday in his place. 

While plans have changed, our heart for unity remains the same. We look forward to future opportunities for dialogue on this topic and for more to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. 

We ask RHCCC to join us in prayer, lifting up our church as we seek unity, wisdom, and love in all we do. Thank you for walking with us in this journey.
