Daily Watch Words
There are many booklets on and with the Bible. The best up untill today for me is still the Daily Text or Daily Watch Words of the Moravian Church. This tradition started in the Moravian Church in Herrnhut nearly 300 years ago (1731). Now in more than 50 languages and easier than ever to read as it is also online. Where there is a Jesus Text in them I use that, otherwise I find one that corresponds to the Watch Words of that day. the text were first delivered door to door in the village of Herrnhut to give you a Word of God for that day, to think about and help you. The Old Testament text is drawn from a bowl of texts 3 years prior to the edition. Then someone suggests a New Testament text to connect with the OT text. Several people give their opinion on the matching of that NT text. When all are satisfied the list of text for a year are sent around the world so translators and editors can do their work. Some translations add songs and prayers, and other Bible readings.
