Session 1: The Charge

In Session One—entitled The Charge, Pastor John Miller explains the five commands included in the Word of God from 2 Timothy 4:1-8 and the imperative charge to preach the Gospel. Expository preaching of the Bible says, faithfully teach the inspired Word of God by teaching what the scriptures actually say and factually mean. Now is the time to proclaim the Holy Scripture as it convicts and convinces the sinner unto Christ’s salvation.

As Homiletics is vital to the art of preaching it is moreover the importance that all Scripture is the inspired Word of God and central to all instruction. The authority is the Bible and God’s Word and a call to preach the scriptures is a sacred trust from God. Good labor and faithful devotion serving God through preaching His Word faithfully means to find out what the text of the Bible says then preach it though God given individuality and truthfulness.
