Growing The Church

Ephesians 4:7-16

June 1, 2014

“But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men.” And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ…speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”—Ephesians 4:7-16

The pattern for church growth says that we are first a Bible church growing in godliness. Next, we are to walk in love, humility, patience keeping unity amongst believers while teaching sound doctrine from God’s word. The ministry of a church has its source in Christ, as Jesus is the head of the Church. The Lord can enjoy each member of the church using gifts of love and professing the purpose of God’s word and will. The work of the ministry is for the good of others and the glorifying of God as each believer becomes more like Jesus!

Pastor John Miller continues our study in the book of Ephesians with a message titled “Growing The Church” using Ephesians 4:7-16 as the scripture reference.

Blessed In Christ

“Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To God’s holy people in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ”—Ephesians 1:1-3 What wealth we have in Jesus and what blessings we possess. Paul the Apostle writes to the church in Ephesus bringing praise to God and blessing to the Lord’s own. The saints in Christ hear of such riches in Christ and the goodness of the Gospel of Salvation. Amongst the worlds, troubles the faithful live abundantly through grace in Christ Jesus. Pastor John Miller begins our study in the book of Ephesians with a message titled “Blessed in Christ” using Ephesians 1:1-3 as the scripture reference.

Chosen By The Father

“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with this pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One-he loves”—Ephesians 1:4-6 It is the doctrine of election that says God chose you and I to Salvation. God is infinite in His sovereign purpose. His ways are immeasurable and endless. The act of His choosing those to salvation is in His purpose and for His intent. What wonderful blessing in Christ and what a glorious notion to know that before the world began God selected each believer to holiness, love and grace. Praise the Lord to His good will and Gospel inviting All! Pastor John Miller continues our study in the book of Ephesians with a message titled “Chosen By The Father” using Ephesians 1:4-6 as the scripture reference.

Redeemed by The Son

“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory”—Ephesians 1 7 12 God redeemed us from sin, the law and its penalty, and Satan and death. The blood of Jesus Christ set each saved believer from damnation. Long before the cross, God purposed in eternity the blessing of Salvation. Before the Lord created anything, he declared and chose you and me for himself. What wealth in such a gift of eternal life. Can we understand this truth? Praise the Lord knowing this mystery of election and the future of grace conceived in eternity. Pastor John Miller continues our study in the book of Ephesians with a message titled “Redeemed by The Son” using Ephesians 1:7-12 as the scripture reference.
