It has been said that the way to protect yourself against disappointment is to lower or eliminate your expectations. That might sound like good advice, but it isn't--certainly not for a Christian. It is impossible to have faith and not have expectations, and it is impossible to please God without faith. Therefore, I must learn to manage my expectations, and make sure that they are grounded in God's word. I'm expecting a miracle, but I can't expect a miracle everyday. I may have to thank God today for the leftover's from yesterday's miracle!
