If you were face to face with Jesus, what would you ask Him to teach you? The onething that the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to do was to pray. It is clear from scripture that prayer is vital. Jesus demonstrated this by routinely seeking solitude to pray to His Father in heaven. If Jesus - the Son of God - needed to pray, then how much more do we need to do so? The Bible says that Christians should pray earnestly and “without ceasing” but that is not the reality for most believers. Often prayer is reduced to something we do before we eat or when we find ourselves in a pinch. Our hope and desire is that Restoration Church Bryan would be the exception to this unfortunate reality.
Author David Powlison wrote that “prayer is meant to be the conversation where your life and your God meet.” Prayer is an essential part of a believer’s life and spiritual maturity. It is something that we must learn and discipline ourselves to do.
On October 13th, join us for our Restoration Prayer Conference from 3-5:15pm. We will explore the purpose of prayer as well as what it looks like to pursue the Lord in prayer “constantly.” We will also explore some of the tools that the Lord has given us to be more persistent in our prayer life.
