December 16, 2023 • Matt Rosenberg • Matthew 5:43–48, Psalm 121:5–7, Jonah 4:7–11
It's really important to understand the difference between sympathy and empathy when we interact with others. While sympathy is more about feeling sorry for someone, empathy is about understanding what they're going through and connecting with them on a deeper level. As followers of God, we should strive to show empathy to others just as He shows mercy to those who don't deserve it. If you're interested in learning more about empathy, we highly recommend watching "The End," the final message in our Jonah series.

God Provides
December 9, 2023 • Matt Rosenberg • Zechariah 14:16, James 1:12–17, Jonah 4:4–5, Genesis 4:16–17, Deuteronomy 16:16–17
God's provision is always better than anything we can provide for ourselves. Even in uncomfortable seasons, we should trust in Him. God will work in all things to get and keep our attention. His desire is to free us from the limitations of our man-made shelters and give us something better: His provisions for us.

The Good Life
December 2, 2023 • Matt Rosenberg • Jonah 4:1–4, Genesis 4:3–16, Luke 15:11–32
Being close to God can help us find goodness even in the worst situations. Mastering our anger means recognizing the difference between good and bad anger, finding the goodness of God in every season of our lives. Watch "The Good Life" as we explore God's goodness and anger in the stories of Cain, Jonah, and the prodigal son. Through their examples we can learn to master our anger and no longer let it control us.

Unjust Judgments
November 25, 2023 • Matt Rosenberg • Joel 2:13–14, James 1:19–20, Jonah 4:1–3, Exodus 34:6–7, 1 Peter 2:23
It's funny how we tend to compare ourselves to the best people in the Bible, even though they don't always have the most admirable traits. We often ignore the negative qualities of these characters and fail to acknowledge that we possess them as well. This self-righteous attitude leads us to make unfair judgments about ourselves, others, and even God. Instead, what if we learn to have faith in God, who always judges justly? Let us show you how in this weeks message, "Unjust Judgments" part 10 of our Jonah series!

Same God & Mission
November 18, 2023 • Matt Rosenberg • Jonah, Acts 10—11, 2 Peter 3:9, Genesis 12:3, Matthew 28:18–19
God's plan from the beginning was to separate the Jewish people from the nations, so that they could be a blessing to those nations. As a result, the Jewish people have the privilege of welcoming everyone to the family of God, regardless of their background. The God of Jonah and Peter is calling you back to Himself today. His desire is to save all people, Jews and Gentiles alike, who call on the name of Yeshua. Watch Part 9 of our Jonah series, "Same God & Mission", today!

Turn & Relent
November 4, 2023 • Matt Rosenberg • Jeremiah 18:1–10, Romans 10:11–15, Jonah 3:5–10
As humans, we often desire mercy for ourselves and justice for our enemies. Jonah 3 tells us that God relented of His promised destruction when the Ninevites repented of their evil and violent ways. Repentance is the means by which God's justice is satisfied and His mercy is poured out. In “Turn & Relent,” we explore how repentance can satisfy God's justice and invite His mercy into our lives today!

Mercy & Wrath
October 28, 2023 • Matt Rosenberg • Jonah 3:1–5
You’ve heard it said, “Mercy is for the weak”, but we say, “It takes great strength to repsond to hard things with mercy!” It's natural for us to feel anger and seek revenge when we are wronged. However, if we consider the mercy that God has shown us, which was undeserved, why would we want anyone to do something to earn mercy? If you're interested in learning more about the way of mercy, check out this week's message.

Under The Sea
October 21, 2023 • Matt Rosenberg • Jonah 2:2–10
It's interesting how having knowledge and insight doesn't always translate into applying it to our own lives. The story of Jonah is a great example of this, where he was unable to apply wisdom to himself while in the belly of the fish. It's a reminder for all of us to be self-aware and apply what we know to better our own lives. Watch "Under To Sea" to learn an important Hebrew word that helps us submit to God's wisdom and apply wisdom to ourselves.

The Sign
October 14, 2023 • Matt Rosenberg • Jonah 2:1, Genesis 1:21, Jeremiah 51:34, Matthew 12:38–41, Matthew 16:1–4
If you or someone you love is going through a tough time that feels like the end of the world, we highly recommend watching "The Sign," part 5 of Jonah. The Bible is full of stories that showcase death and resurrection, no where more clear than Jonah. The very thing that seemed like it would kill Jonah (being swallowed by a fish) became the vehicle for his rebirth (being in the belly of the fish) and eventual resurrection (being vomited out of the fish's mouth). What feels an agent of death can become a womb of new life for you!

Not Like Jonah
September 30, 2023 • Matt Rosenberg • Matthew 17:1–5, Deuteronomy 18:15–18, Exodus 32:30–34, Jonah 1:12–14
It's crazy how the book of Jonah flips the script on what we typically think of as a savior. Instead of being this heroic figure like Moses, Jonah is the opposite: the savior we don't need. It's important for us to remember that we can't always handle everything on our own and that we need help. Even though we may want to rely solely on ourselves, we should keep in mind that Yeshua is the only one who can truly save us. Watch "Not Like Jonah" to learn more!

Mercy In The Storms
September 23, 2023 • Matt Rosenberg • Jonah 1:4–12, Psalm 95, Matthew 14:24–31
Have you ever wondered why we sometimes find ourselves in difficult situations? The Bible teaches that not every hardship we face is a result of our own mistakes, but it does warn us that every sin we commit will eventually lead to trouble. This is exactly what happened to Jonah when he found himself caught in a violent storm. The storm was not the problem, but rather Jonah's disobedience to God's calling. Whether the storms we face are of our own making or not, one thing is certain: there is always mercy to be found in the storms of life.

Every Man: The Story of Jonah
September 9, 2023 • Matt Rosenberg • Jonah 1:1–2, Micah 7:18–20, 2 Kings 14:24–25
Jonah is the worst prophet in the Bible. He could hear God clearly but chose to run the other way from God's plan for his life. Jonah is a mirror you can hold up to see your own sin. Jonah is not just the worst...he is just like you! Jump in the water as we start a new series on the book of Jonah for Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur and Sukkot.
