High Holy Days

Sukkot

October 7, 2017 • Aybars Uckun

The first verse in the scriptures reads "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." This verse has become a controversy to both those who believe in Yeshua and those who do not regarding the time and methodology in which our world was created. To engage in this dialogue misses the bigger point; that God is the one who ordains the patterns and cycles that our lives fit into. We can see a symmetry between the world we live in and the revelation of God in the scriptures. There is no better place to experience the convergence of this than by reading the weekly Torah portions! At Restoration, we believe the God wants to speak to us through the Torah cycle to help us become more fully devoted followers of Yeshua! #TorahPortions #changesinthecycleoflife

Yom Kippur

September 30, 2017 • Aybars Uckun

On Yom Kippur, we fast from food and other pleasures so that we can draw near to God, confess our sins, and ask for forgiveness. As Messianic Believers in Yeshua, we celebrate His sacrificial death that not only atoned for our sin forever while also creating a way for us to return to our Creator and learn to walk with Him all the days of our lives. Unfortunately, when we fall into sin, instead of getting back up and walking again with God, we turn and run from Him. He wants us to stop running from Him and to turn back to Him so He can break the cycle of sin that caused us to fall in the first place. Yom Kippur is more than a day of solemn fasting; it is an opportunity to experience mercy and restoration!

Rosh Hashanah

September 21, 2017 • Matt Rosenberg

Rosh Hashanah begins a time of reflection on reconciliation with God. It is the start of the 10 days of Awe and a time of introspection into our sinful hearts so we can ask God to forgive us and receive His forgiveness. When we hear the sound of the Shofar we are reminded that God is near and available to us whenever we call on the name of Yeshua. God is faithful. God is True. God is calling you and inviting you to return to Him, your creator, in this wonderful new year, 5778. Best part is that its all for free! Shanah Tovah (Happy New Year)!
