Christians often believe the "Church" began in Acts 2, but it started at Mt Sinai when Israel gathered to receive the Torah. Acts 2 is the fulfillment of God's promises to the Jewish people twice, on Shavuot, 1500 years apart, with the giving of the Torah and the Holy Spirit.
