History's Great Mystery

Easter Weekend

April 1, 2018 • Ronnie Rothe

Main Point: "Easter solves history’s great mystery."

Key Verse: "Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die." – John 11:25 (NIV)

Challenge Question: "Once you have concluded Jesus rose from the grave, why would you not take hold of the resurrection and the life?"

Sermon Summary: When Jesus was killed, His movement died with Him. His followers scattered. Everything He had said and done lost its value. He died, just like every other person who has walked this earth. So why did the movement re-ignite less than 50 days after His death? Why did it grow even larger than when He was alive? Why do millions of people around the globe STILL worship Jesus over 2,000 years later? The rise and expansion of Jesus' following is one of history's great mysteries that there is no plausible explanation for. On Easter weekend we explore this mystery together.
