On Vision Night we share where we believe God is leading Relevant in 2019 and beyond!

Going Public

Going Public • May 19, 2019 • Ronnie Rothe

MAIN POINT: "Baptism is a public declaration of faith in Jesus. It’s evidence of salvation, not a requirement for it." KEY VERSE: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” – Matthew 28:19 CHALLENGE QUESTION: "If you’ve put your faith in Jesus but haven’t been baptized since, would you take the next step to be?" SCRIPTURE REFERENCES: Matthew 28:19, Mark 7:4, Luke 11: 38 SUMMARY: Originally, "baptism" was not a religious concept. Yet over time, baptism has become an exclusively religious idea. Are you confused about what baptism is all about? Does it seem like a weird practice? Unsure if baptism is a next step for YOU? In this sermon, we explore the purpose of baptism, what Jesus and the writers of Scripture had to say about it, and why it’s so important for us today!

Fear of the Past

Scared to Death • May 12, 2019 • Jeremy Pietrocini

MAIN POINT: "Fear from our past often makes us create walls that keep us from being free to live the life God has for us." KEY VERSE: "I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ.” – Philemon 1:6 CHALLENGE QUESTION: "What is your wall that keeps you from addressing your fear? Are you willing to share that with someone and face your fear this week?" SCRIPTURE REFERENCES: Philemon 1:8-12, 13-18 SUMMARY: Fear is always about something you’re going to lose in the future. But fear is almost always rooted in the past. Your past is a problem when it creates fear for your future. It limits your potential and gets in the way of a deeper relationship with God.

Perpetual Anxiety in the Present

Scared to Death • May 5, 2019 • Matt Paddack

MAIN POINT: "To overcome anxiety we cast it on the One who is willing and able to carry it." KEY VERSE: “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:5-7 CHALLENGE QUESTION: "Will you try to carry your fears? - OR - Will you be willing to cast them on the one who cares for you?" SCRIPTURE REFERENCES: 1 Peter 5:5-7, Philippians 4:6-7 SUMMARY: As a society, we’re more anxious now than we’ve ever been. If fear is caused by our belief in a future potential loss, then anxiety is the present emotion caused by that uncertainty. We carry it around like a software virus. It slows us down and quietly keeps us from operating at our full potential.
