In this talk, part of the Edmiston Center’s Grimké Lecture Series at RTS Atlanta, Dr. Kelly Kapic points us to the many real needs of the body of Christ — and how we can be liberated to be the body of Christ to meet those very needs. Rather than being crushed under legalistic expectations — we are freed to imagine what life can look like together instead, where God uses said limitations to cultivate a new freedom, joy in fellowship, healthier rest, and persevering faithfulness to God.

In this talk entitled “The Significance of 1789: The Bittersweet Legacies of Uncle Tom and Uncle Sam, Sweetly Reconciled in Christ,” part of the Edmiston Center’s Grimké Lecture Series at RTS Atlanta -- Joseph Matsiko examines the lasting impacts of early American art, culture and (mis)education on contemporary discussions of U.S. history. Joseph Matsiko is an MDiv student at Reformed Theological Seminary, Atlanta. He moved to the U.S in August of 2022, after completing a B.A in Biblical Studies from African Bible University in Uganda, East Africa. He is interested in International Relations and Diplomacy, and believes God has called him to disciple people from diverse cultures, to foster love, understanding, and mutual development, all to the glory of God.
