The church is not a building, a place, or an event. Sadly, it seems like today, many claim to be followers of Christ but have no real commitment to the church. What if God intended for us to be more than consumers looking to received goods and services from a local church? What if God intended for the church to be more than an experience? What if we are missing out by church hopping and church shopping all the time? This week, as we study 1 Corinthians 12:12-27, we discover that God has not called us to be spiritual lone rangers but rather to be members of the local church. What if belonging to a local church was actually good for your soul, enhances your walk with Jesus, and advances the mission and purposes of God?
