Prepared to Die - John 19:1-16

Jesus suffered willingly for our salvation.

1) Jesus suffered injustice for our justification. (1-7)

”For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly. For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God.“ ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭19‬-‭20‬

2) Jesus stood defenseless to be our defense. (8-11)

3) Jesus sustained rejection so we could be accepted. (12-16)

Connected to Jesus we are amazingly productive. 1) Self-exertion yields nothing. (1-3) 2) Listening to Jesus yields much. (4-14) What has eternal significance? Making, maturing, and multiplying disciples.
