This year, the Leadership Team has dedicated our Thanksgiving offering to two areas: our newest outreach ministry #bethechurch and Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Through this new #bethechurch outreach program, Redeemer Church works with local organizations to reach those in need. Some of the events we have participated in are: Cup Runneth Over in St. Johns helping to provide meals to those in need, Hannah’s House fixing their deck for the pregnant moms who come and go from the shelter, Feed the Vulnerable serving a meal to those in need, assembling and distributing blessing bags through the Cardboard Prophet event in Lansing, sorting clothes at St. Vincent De Paul, and more. As this ministry grows, we are in need of funds to help support events. New opportunities will include providing personal kid care kits every month to Youth Haven Ranch, making dry soup kits for tiny pantries around town, and providing a hot meal to the Ronald McDonald House occupants. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a nation-wide organization whose mission statement is "No kid sleeps on the floor in our town". For several months, we have been partnering with the Lansing chapter to help build, assemble and deliver beds to local children. Along with a new bed and mattress, each child receives a pillow, sheet set, and comforter. Part of the thanksgiving offering this year will go toward buying bedding for the children.
