This week we start a new sermon series titled Something More. We begin in Mark 2, with the story of a cripple who experiences redemption. It is a story that helps us to think about ourselves—our longings, what we think will make us whole—as well as what Jesus is doing in the world.
See you on Sunday

Something More - Treasure
January 23, 2022 • Rev. Josh Hahne • Matthew 13:44–46
This Sunday we continue our new series “Something More” by considering two parables in Matthew 13:44-46. Jesus uses the ideas of hidden treasure or finding a great gem to help us think about what we long for, ultimately value, and love.
See you on the Lord’s day!

Something More - Community & Mission
February 6, 2022 • Rev. Josh Hahne • Matthew 16:13–20
Why does your life matter? What do you live for? Where do you find purpose & meaning? These are the type of questions we are considering in our sermon series Something More.
This week we come to Jesus’ famous words at Caesarea Philippi in Matthew 16:13-20. There Jesus speaks about community and mission, two things we all long for.
See you on the Lord’s Day!

How do you envision your Christian life connecting to the great redemptive work of God in the world? How does your work, play, neighborhood, etc. intersect what God is doing?
This Sunday we’ll take up these questions in a practical way as we continue to consider how God is using the community of the church to fulfill the mission of the gospel. I hope that as we do so we’ll grow in our vision for the way in which God will use Redeemer to convey something more to Orange County.
See you on Sunday!

Something More - Hospitality
February 20, 2022 • Rev. Adam Feichtmann • Luke 14:12–24, Romans 12:9–13
What comes to mind when you think of hospitality?
Tea parties? Hotels? Entertaining?
This Sunday we will continue our Something More sermon series by looking at the Parable of the Great Banquet from the Gospel of Luke 14. We will see there is something more to hospitality then what immediately comes to mind.
In fact, the more we study the Christian understanding of hospitality, the more we realize its extreme importance in reaching our secular Western age with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday!
Pastor Adam
This week we continue our sermon series Something More by thinking about Paul’s words on the Christian life to the ancient church in Colossae. He says that covetousness is idolatry. For many of us, this is a curious claim. Isn’t idolatry something from bygone ages when superstitious people bowed down to ridiculous statues? What does idolatry have to do with our passions and desires, as Paul says?
Join us on Sunday and we’ll take up these questions as we think about idolatry in our modern world.

Something More than Money
March 13, 2022 • Rev. Josh Hahne • Matthew 6:19–24
The Scriptures speak about money more than 2,300 times! That is good news for us who live in Orange County, where we enjoy, and are surrounded by, unusual prosperity.
On Sunday we’ll consider Jesus’ words in Matthew 6. He teaches about how your life can be about something more than money and how to seek first his kingdom. See you soon…

Something More - Play
March 20, 2022 • Rev. Josh Hahne • Psalm 84, Philippians 4:4–9, John 10:10
In Orange County we work hard, play hard. We love our entertainment, hobbies, and play. Who doesn't want to be happy? But there must be something more?
Join us this Sunday as learn about the generosity of God and the way to lasting joy.

Something More - Beauty
March 27, 2022 • Rev. Josh Hahne • 1 Timothy 4:6–10, Matthew 8:1–3, Genesis 1:26–28
This week we will be talking about beauty. Not the beauty of a sunset or the ocean but our appearance, attractiveness, body image. In Orange County we are fixated on beauty, but the Lord wants something more for us.
Join us on Sunday to learn what the Scriptures teach about beauty and how the gospel sets us free.

Something More - Success
April 3, 2022 • Rev. Danny Morgan • Isaiah 53, 1 Corinthians 1:18, 1 Corinthians 1:27–31, Mark 8:34–38
This week concludes our sermon series Something More. Pastor Danny Morgan will be speaking about success, and how the gospel reorients our vision of success from one of accumulating wealth, power, and influence to giving of oneself for the glory of God.
