Middle School Summer Camp

July 10 - 12, 2025

Thursday, July 10th - Saturday, July 12th, 2025 | Hermit Gulch Campground, Catalina Island


Middle school students (rising 6th graders through rising 8th graders), and their friends, are invited to join us for a summer camp on Catalina Island! Sleep in tent cabins, go snorkeling, roast s'mores, have fun with friends, and study the Bible.

The departing ferry leaves Newport Beach at 8am on Wednesday.

The returning ferry arrives in Newport Beach at 6pm on Friday.


Camping Location: Hermit Gulch Campground

Hermit Gulch Campground is located uphill on Avalon Canyon Road just 1.5 miles from the Avalon boat landing. The campground is situated in Avalon Canyon near the Nature Center and the Wrigley Memorial and Botanical Garden


The cost is $275 and a deposit of $100 is due by January 31st to secure a spot for your student. You can pay online, check or cash.


If you would like to bypass the $3.20 service fee for the deposit, you can write a check to "Redeemer Presbyterian Church" for $100 and memo "Catalina Camp Deposit" and either mail it to Redeemer's PO Box - PO Box 9708 Newport Beach, CA 92658 or drop it in the Sunday collection box. However, if you write a check, you will also need to email Danielle Smith (danielles@redeemeroc.org) to let her know. The remaining $175 (if paid online there would be a $5.38 service fee = $180.38) will be due by May 31st. 


If you want to pay the deposit online, click the registration link and then choose "partial payment."


You can also choose to pay the whole fee upfront, either by check or online. If you pay online, please note that there is a $8.30 service fee on the full amount.


Forms: As the trip gets closer, we will have you complete two forms: A Minor Participation Authorization and Consent Form and a 2025/2026 Medical Information Form. 


WHAT TO BRING: Bible, notebook, pen, flashlight, sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, warm and cool clothes, jacket, towel, and swimsuit. (Snorkel mask and fins optional).
