Tenebrae Service

Tenebrae is the Latin word for "Darkness." This Tenebrae service was celebrated by the ancient church. It found its place during Holy Week in order to impress on the minds and hearts of believers the serious consequences of sin and the magnitude of the Savior's sacrifice.

Today, Good Friday, we will not look down in fear or defeat but hold our heads high as we focus on the cross and come alive to the sacrifice Jesus made.

Tonight, we celebrate the anniversary of the giving of the new commandment. As the King of Kings took the role of a servant and washed his disciples’ feet he demonstrated just how new his commandment was. We are reminded of the depth of Christ’s servanthood. He not only served through the washing of feet and serving of the supper, he served by laying down his life for us.

Above and Beyond

During Holy Week, we'll journey through Jesus’s life, sacrifice, and power. Today is Palm Sunday, so we start by understanding Jesus’s life, which was above and beyond human understanding.
