Summer in the Psalms
Psalm 119: The Word
August 31, 2019 • Pastor Daniel Ondov
Psalm 119 will remind us that God’s Word is to be the foundation of life. God's Word teaches us his commands and gives us understanding. It also reminds us where we have strayed and shows us the provision and protection that God offers to us.
Psalm 23: Shepherd
August 17, 2019 • Pastor Daniel Ondov
We all know at least the basics about sheep. They tend to be kind of helpless and desperately need a caring shepherd. Today, we'll see how the Bible carries that imagery into the Bible in Psalm 23 with Jesus as the shepherd and us as the sheep.
Psalm 22: Forsaken
August 10, 2019 • Pastor Chad Ott
In Psalm 22, we take a look at the words Jesus quoted on the cross. These are words we may want to echo when others speak against us. But God did not forsake his Son, Jesus and will certainly not forsake us either. Instead, we experience his grace and proclaim his name.
Psalm 34: Goodness
August 3, 2019 • Pastor Daniel Ondov
One of the most descriptive phrases in Scripture is that we can "taste and see that the Lord is good." Taste brings enjoyment to so many activities in life and it tells of the goodness of the Lord as well. So, we listen to our God as his children and receive his goodness.
Psalms 32/51: Confession
July 27, 2019 • Pastor Chad Ott
Confession is a core element of our Christian faith. We've all done wrong things and need to confess them to our God. We need to have the burden of our sin lifted. Psalms 32 & 51 tell us of the sweet forgiveness offered to us through Jesus when we confess our sins.
Psalm 46: Refuge
July 20, 2019 • Pastor Daniel Ondov
Life is filled with days of anxiety and stress. We've all had those days where we'd like to crawl in a hole and fast forward days, weeks, or months. But Psalm 46 has a different message: that God is our refuge and strength and carries us through even the darkest of days. Let us run to him as our fortress.
