Dr. Benjamin Haupt is associate provost and associate professor of Practical Theology at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. As associate provost, Haupt assists the Seminary provost in achieving key strategic priorities in support of the mission of the Seminary. He oversees the Seminary’s recruitment and admissions teams and serves as a liaison to faculty and staff involved in accomplishing the Seminary’s enrollment goals related to its residential, distance and multiethnic Ministerial Formation programs and Advanced Studies programs. Haupt has been a faculty member since 2013.

Dr. Beth Hoeltke is recently retired but was the director of the Graduate School at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, where she served to advise and supervise its students, oversee the components of graduate education, and promoted academic quality and integrity. She served in this role from 2016-2023.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology and a master’s degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, in Menomonie, Wis., Hoeltke earned a master’s degree in Systemic Theology and a Ph.D. in Doctrinal Theology from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. While attending Concordia Seminary, she served as a graduate assistant to Dr. Charles Arand and as a reference librarian for the Concordia Seminary library.

Going into all of this Mark and his Board were well aware of the fact that a large majority of churches do not fare well in this regard. With this in mind, Mark and his team committed themselves to constant prayer while Mark conducted dozens of interviews, listened to podcasts, read books, and in general, learned all that he could about leadership transitions.
