Week 2 Stuck Together: This week when you feel hurt, mad, or frustrated, go for a walk. On your walk, take some deep breaths and pray for the person you are frustrated with. Then, ask God for patience in how you respond to them.
The invitation to follow Jesus is for all people. Depending on your background, self-esteem, and belief system up to this point, this truth may be hard for some to believe. In a culture that sometimes sends the message that faith is for those who do all the right things, or behave a certain way, or have it all figured out, the idea that Jesus came to save all people—no matter who they are, what they’ve done, or what they’ve believed up to this point—can feel contradictory or confusing.
What’s one thing you need help trusting God with in your life? Right now, tell God about that thing. Then, ask for help in trusting God’s plan for it in your life.
This Christmas, we’re celebrating the season with a series about how Jesus’ birth is good news of great joy called For All People. As students are guided through this season, keep in mind that sometimes the holidays don’t feel all that joyful. For those struggling with disappointment, disruption, or discouragement this Christmas, emphasize the fact that the birth of Jesus really did make joy possible for us in any circumstance. That’s good news for all people!
