Throughout the letter to the Ephesians, Paul uses various metaphors for the Church, but none is so compelling as "the body of Christ." In this message we begin a consideration of the various "Body Parts:" the Head, the Shepherd Leaders, the Saints, and the Whole Body.
Christ as the Head of the Church makes clear for us that the body of Christ is sovereignly initiated. Just as God "gave" Christ to be the head of the Church, so Christ "gave" Shepherd Leaders to care for and instruct the church. Who are these Shepherd Leaders?

The Apostle Paul asks for the prayers of his people, not for his own sake, but so that the mystery of the gospel might be proclaimed. He asks for two things specifically: "utterance" and "boldness."
