Colossians 1:13 | I Was Rescued [VC Kids VBS Bonus Verse
Jesus Christ died to rescue us from the kingdom of darkness. He came to rescue us from sin. Sin is anything we think, say, or do that displeases God or breaks God's law. Salvation is being rescued from sin's penalty, sin's power, and one day the very presence of sin.
Have you been rescued from sin? If not, you can trust Jesus Christ as your savior.
Admit to God that you know you have sinned against him.
Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sin.
Choose Jesus Christ as your savior. Then you will be saved.

This news is SO good that it's gooder than any other news. Yes, I said "gooder." There's a reason for that - it's the Gospel and the Gospel means "good news." Memorize 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 with me.

Romans 5:8 | God Loves You and He Can Prove It! [VC Kids VBS Bonus Verse]

How can you know for sure that God loves you? Romans 5:8 tells us that "God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Memorize this verse with me using the tips and hand motions that I use.
Why did Christ have to die for us? Because we have all thought, said, or done things that displease God or break God's law. There are consequences for our sin and the consequence is death. Someone has to pay for that consequence and that is what Jesus Christ did when he died on the cross. Jesus paid for our sins with his life and it was a gift.

1 Timothy 4:12 | 5 Ways To Be A Positive Young Influencer [VC Kids VBS Bonus Verse]

1 Timothy 4:12 gives 5 ways that a kid or young person can be a positive young influencer. Even when you are a kid, you can influence the lives of people around you. Learn this memory verse and remember that as a young person you can be an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.
Verse breakdown:
"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young": When people look down on you it means they don't think very highly of you. In the case of this verse, someone might look down on kids or young people because they don't think they can do certain things because they are too young.
"but set an example for the believers": Even though you are young, you can be an example or a positive influencer for other people.
5 ways to be a positive young influencer:
1. "in speech": Use your words in positive, uplifting ways.
2. "in conduct": Carry out your life in positive ways. Make positive choices, oh yeah!
3. "in love": Treat other people with love. Love people the way that Jesus Christ loves the church.
4. "in faith": People can be influenced by your faith and how they see you live out your faith.
5. "in purity": Again making positive choices, oh yeah!
