9/25 Born Again

September 25, 2022 • Jason Swick • 1 Peter 1:3–12

Peter encourages suffering Christians that they have been born again by God’s great mercy to a living hope, inheritance, and a salvation guarded by God’s power. This is a great promise for us as we go through hard times in life. A promise with a foundation of when we were born again at our baptism. We can remember and stand on the fact that God was at work then and that He is with us even now in our trials. Praise God for this.

12/4 Who Will I Become?

Today we begin with a great question; who will I become? Based on how you lived last week & what you plan to do this week, who will you become? Will you become an elder like Peter talks to in this passage? Why not? Will you grow toward Jesus or not? What stands in your way? Maybe you need to remember or meditate on one of these characteristics of God and how He can transform you. A God you can trust in.

When all else fails, then what? What does our world have to offer? What does Jesus offer? Today we explore how Jesus offers the way of suffering…a way of blessing, hope, connection to God, a church family, and to himself. Will you repent as you consider where your false hope is?

11/20 Glorify God in Your Life

Peter views the suffering of Jesus and the judgement of the flood as an archetype of baptism and a call to a transformed life. Baptism is the beginning of new life with new values, new relationships, new attitudes that lead to a clear conscience as we walk with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We hope you spend time with the words of Peter and consider your own life trajectory and how God is calling you to live for Him.
