When planning and preparing for the Christmas cooking, there are so many ingredients and preparations that go into a beautiful, delicious Christmas meal spread. More than this, the Christmas table is a place of fellowship, where everyone should be welcome and no past debts held onto. Ouch—that can be hard to do, to forgive and welcome those who have hurt us. God forgave us for all of our failures and mistakes—and in the season of Christmas, we are to model Him and reconcile with one another as He has reconciled with us!

Christmas is over. The celebrations have passed, all the food has been eaten, every present unwrapped and neatly put away. Decorations come down and life resumes as it were. Life is a lot like that—especially as the new year rolls around. As we take down the decor, we also strip ourselves of the things that we want to rid ourselves of. And we then clothe ourselves in the habits and attributes that we want to adopt in the new year. What does God desire for us to take into the new year?
