Many of us make promises with God. If He would change our situation, we promise to behave better, get our act straight or start being faithful. But, the thief on the cross who hung next to Jesus couldn’t make promises. Knowing he had no time left and nothing to offer, he simply asked God to remember Him, which Jesus did. No promises, just grace. Maybe salvation looks different than we think. Maybe God isn’t so much concerned with changing our circumstances, but capturing our heart instead. The Easter message is that Jesus didn’t come to solve our problems. He came to save our lives.
