As humans, we instinctively search for a worthy foundation we can build upon that is sufficient to bear the weight of our desires. The problem arises when we spend our days building our lives on the wrong foundation. Everything becomes centered on constructing our own little kingdom and pushing our desires and agendas. Before we know it, we find ourselves stuck in destructive patterns and futile routines. The sense of worth, value, and purpose we are seeking reside in only one place. A new culture requires new patterns which only come from trusting our new identity in Christ. During his time on earth, Jesus spoke more about His kingdom than anything else. He wanted His disciples, as well as us, to understand that pursuing His Kingdom enables us to experience life. His Kingdom comes to us right here and right now and we experience it when we trade our will for His.

Bringing God's Kingdom to bear in this world starts with us - in our own heart, mind, and soul. It's not a place we will one day dwell, but a way of life we get to experience right here and right now. It starts with repentance and choosing His will and His ways over our own. In order to lead others, we must first lead ourselves by following Christ. This encounter influences everything about us from our thoughts and actions to our relationships and interactions with others. By living distinctly we advance God's Kingdom.
