God’s business involves both a spiritual element and a practical element. The spiritual is a matter of one’s heart before God, and the practical has to do with the actual implementation.

The non-negotiable trait of a true leader in the service of the Lord is FAITHFULNESS!!! This truth cannot be emphasized too much. The work of the Lord, the carrying out of the great commission of the church, and the day to day overseeing of the ministry of the church is anything but convenient. Jesus was completely honest and up front when He said that, “You must first deny yourself, then take up your cross” if you’re going to follow and serve Him. This is true for every disciple but especially the leader.

The church or church leaders ordain its leaders / ministers as witnesses to their life of faith, and their witness to the gifts they possess to carry out the appointment of their calling. The ordination or “backing” of the church serves to lend trust to others who don’t yet know them personally.
