After Herod had John the Baptist beheaded, Jesus was deeply grieved and wanted to be by himself to mourn his cousin. However, the crowd found out where he was, and Jesus had compassion on them and healed them.
Slaves who worked from sunrise to sundown without medical insurance or protection from injury were healed by placing blood on their doorposts and eating roast lamb while picturing Jesus.
