Message #66: Begrudge My Generosity?

Matthew 19:30-20:16

March 14, 2021 • David Cotner

As we enter Matthew chapter 20, we come face to face with an uncomfortable parable that challenges our presuppositions about life, God, and eternity. What exact presupposition is being challenged? Well, we all have jaded concepts about what is fair, and God is never fair in how He dispenses His grace and mercy. That’s right, God is radically, wildly unfair in how He generously bestows salvation and material blessings upon individuals. As we will discover in today’s message, God is not always fair in how He saves and blesses, but He is always right and sovereign. The question is, “Will you begrudge the generosity of God in the lives of others?”

Message #86: The Glorious Resurrection!

September 5, 2021 • Matthew 28:1–15

As the old song goes, “Low in the grave He lay, Jesus my Savior. Waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord! Up from the grave He arose; with a mighty triumph o'er His foes; He arose a victor from the dark domain, and He lives forever, with His saints to reign. He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!” Yes, indeed! The tomb is empty, and Jesus is alive! And in today’s message from Matthew 28:1-15, we’ll investigate this historical account as relayed to us by the Apostle Matthew.

Message #85: The Crucifixion and Death

August 22, 2021 • Matthew 27:31–66

Today we enter into one of the darkest sections in all of Matthew’s Gospel Account. In Matthew 27:31-66, we witness the crucifixion, death, and burial of our Lord and King, Jesus Christ. The perfectly sinless One dies for the totally sinful ones. Today we’ll unpack the specific (even surprising) details surrounding Christ’s crucifixion. Then we’ll discover the supernatural effects surrounding Christ’s death. And then we’ll stand amazed at the split actions surrounding Christ’s burial. It’s all coming up next as we end Matthew chapter 27!
