In the tiny New Testament letter of Jude, we are encouraged to “contend for the faith” (v. 3). Such an uncomfortable mission is necessary because certain people have invaded the church – “ungodly people” (v. 4). Such people, who have become false teachers in the church, seek to corrupt the church with their specific brand of cancerous unbelief and perversion.
