In the tiny New Testament letter of Jude, we are encouraged to “contend for the faith” (v. 3). Such an uncomfortable mission is necessary because certain people have invaded the church – “ungodly people” (v. 4). Such people, who have become false teachers in the church, seek to corrupt the church with their specific brand of cancerous unbelief and perversion. And Jude is crystal clear – such people will be judged with “eternal fire” (v. 5-7). But who exactly are these “ungodly people”? What is their personality profile? What makes them tick?
