Ryan Forbes and Officer Wendell Metzler share their redemption story of overcoming addiction and walking in wholeness. These men demonstrate how reconciliation can powerfully triumph over retribution.
Ryan grew up in New Holland and attended Garden Spot High School. His family life was dysfunctional, causing Ryan to turn to drugs and alcohol as a teenager and young adult to escape the chaos of home. Throughout this time, Ryan was in and out of prison, until God supernaturally reached down and drew Ryan to himself. Ryan relapsed several times, but God was faithful in His pursuit of Ryan. By the grace of God and through transparency with trusted men, Ryan has been free of drugs and alcohol for over 12 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a concentration in addictions, as well as a bachelor’s degree in religion, both from Liberty University. He has been married to his wife, Caitlyn, for almost 7 years, and together they have 2 beautiful sons. Ryan recently coauthored a book, “Unchained,” with Wendell Metzler, the police officer involved in many of Ryan’s arrests who today is a close friend. The book tells the story of Ryan and Wendell’s encounters in the criminal justice system, as well as Ryan’s obedience to God to make amends with Wendell, starting the journey to the friendship they have today. Ryan has a passion to see men and women pursuing Christ and living the lives that God designed them to live, who and free.

We are excited to have Stephen and Veronica Jenks back with us for the final session of our ACTIVATE School of the Prophetic. Stephen opens up the topic of prophetic worship and prayer and how to practically release heaven on earth. Stephen has been a part of the Eagles’ Wings team for 22 years, Veronica for 15 years, and they serve together on the Leadership Team. Eagles’ Wings is a global movement advancing three biblical mandates: honoring Israel, renewing biblical community, and igniting unity through worship and prayer. A gifted worship leader and psalmist, Stephen has ministered with Eagles’ Wings teaching, leading worship and training leaders. Veronica is passionate about discipleship and seeing people walk in the fullness of their calling in God. She loves teaching and training kids to discover who God is. She also has traveled to Thailand, Holland, and the Philippines working with victims of human trafficking. Together, through conferences and services across the United States, Europe, Central America, Asia and the Middle East, they have had the privilege of bringing tens of thousands of believers into a living encounter with the Presence and Person of Jesus Christ.
