Week 4 • May 1, 2016 • Gordon Godfrey, Jr. - Senior Pastor

Pastor Godfrey, Jr. was saved in 1972 in Montgomery, Alabama and one year later began serving in ministry. His full time ministry started in 1979 in Panama City, Florida, at Central Baptist Church. In 1991, he became Pastor of Fundamental Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida. The church experienced rapid growth and soon outgrew the buildings. The church voted to relocate and changed the name to Marcus Pointe Baptist Church. Since 1991, the average weekly attendance has climbed from 63 to more than 1600. The church has averaged more than 500 salvations and 350 new members. Under the leadership of Pastor Godfrey, Marcus Pointe Baptist has expanded to include a Christian School for elementary students, a Thrift Store benefiting Military families, and an Online Christian Academy for 3rd to 12th grade. Pastor and his wife June have three grown children: Becky Meredith and her husband Keith, Greg and his wife Brittany, and Bobby and his wife Aly. June and Pastor have 6 grandchildren.
