Fear can be good and bad at the same time. Today we want to understand the difference between good and healthy fear, from bad and crippling fear. We also want to understand how we can recognize the difference and how we can overcome our fears so we can abide in faith. When our faith overcomes our fears, we will not just believe in the impossible, but we will do the impossible.

We are family

This world we live in can be a very difficult and lonely place for many people. In scripture Jesus is referred to as the good shepherd and we are called the sheep of His pasture. Being alone can be dangerous in a world full of adversity and adversaries. God has provided a family called the Church to provide a place of nourishment, relationships, fellowship, and encouragement in this broken world.

The choice to follow Christ is yours, salvation is a free gift, but the disciple must make a choice to deliberately, conscientious, and in a determined way to follow Him. Jesus has given each of us an invitation to follow. As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. And He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." At once they left their nets and followed him.

Walking close to God means living a life of service. No matter our social status, background, upbringing, failures, or successes it is our life of service to others that will be prized in the life to come. Throughout the Bible we see many great examples of servants to God. Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Jesus, Mary, Paul, Steven. All these exemplified Christ in their humanity and took their place in the grand story of God. A Servant Spirit is the Spirit of Christ and is less taught and more caught. Today let us learn and receive the mindset of Heaven which is the “Servant Spirit.”
