Pastor Dale discussed that just as animals have an instinct to flee in a predictable direction or to escape a tsunami hours before it occurs, so we as humans are wired to worship. It is not a question of “Do we worship?” but rather “Who (or what) do we worship?” He showed a video of a huge music concert, with people raising their hands and jumping up and down, and noted that we as Christians tend to subdue ourselves in church when we worship--instead, we need to be our natural selves before God in worship.

Pastor Dale taught us that worship is to be a transitive verb. A verb that requires a direct object. There’s only one direct object worthy of our worship, God. Without it, all of life will become unsatisfactory.

Today Pastor Dale talked about the story from John 9:1-34 about the man born blind. After the blind man was healed, the religious leaders criticized Jesus for healing him on the Sabbath. They were too wrapped up in their own legality and missed their opportunity to worship God.
