Scripture often tells us that we should forgive others as we have been forgiven. To illustrate this teaching, Jesus uses a parable about a servant who is forgiven of a massive debt, but is unwilling to do the same for someone who owes him a tiny sum in comparison. Forgiveness requires enduring someone's sin without retaliation. When we experience forgiveness, it should change our character. Failing to forgive reveals that we may not truly have experienced the grace of Jesus.
