The Good Shepherd

Psalm 23

The 23rd Psalm deals with the realities of life. When you face difficult decisions, this psalm is for you. When you are losing heart, this psalm is for you. When you face enemies, this psalm is for you. When you have seen the face of evil, this psalm is for you. And since you will one day walk through the valley of death, this psalm is for you.  As a follower of Christ, you need and have the Good Shepherd.

The Lord is My Shepherd

Psalm 23 describes God as our Good Shepherd. Just as a good shepherd cares for his sheep, God cares for us. What does that really mean, though? Psalm 23:1-2 speaks directly to our daily lives, portraying God as a caring guide who provides for our needs and leads us to places of peace and restoration. Just as a shepherd tends to the well-being of their flock, these verses remind us of God's constant presence and His perfect leadership of our lives.
