Sanctification is something that you should hear taught in the church more often. What is sanctification? It's both the immediate and lifelong process of us being set apart from sin and our flesh towards God. Becoming more like Jesus is a process that we live out as Christians each and every day. We will discuss what that looks like in our lives and how to help accelerate the process.

When we receive everything we need from God by grace, through faith it's important that we understand faith and grace. Last week we ministered on Grace and how it empowers is to be forgiven, forgive others. This week we will teach on faith and justification. Justification is God declaring us innocent. How does that impact us when we've lived a lifetime of sin and rebellion and suddenly we're declared innocent by God?

Back To Basics - Serving Jesus had no home, no armies, nor earthly kingdoms but all through history he has had millions of followers. Jesus led his followers by example and by serving. If Christians are to be imitators of Jesus then we must make serving others a way of life. Serving is how we identify with Jesus, and become more like Jesus. Serving is a key component to discipleship.

Back To Basics - Sanctification part 2. "I prayed a prayer, I accepted Jesus in my life". "I made Jesus lord (put Jesus in charge) and he became my savior (saving from sin and punishment)." NOW WHAT? There are many who come to faith, many who believe in Jesus but few who learn to live for Jesus. How do we go from being in rebellion against Jesus to surrendering our lives to him each day? For many of us, we spent years in sin and dysfunction because of that there will be a process that needs to play out as we learn to live for God. As we spend time in God's presence, in God's word, around God's people, our spirit, emotions and our identity will become the way that God intended. It's going to take time, grace and the right environment to maintain spiritual growth. This message helps us break down the stages of Christian Growth and the things that accelerate growth.
