Grace Series • December 31, 2017 • Mike Matijevich

Luke 2:11 “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” “SAVIOUR” Matthew 1:21 “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” Shall SAVE His people FROM their SINS! NOTE: Did you know that Jesus wasn’t called Jesus until somewhere in the 15 - 16th century? The Bible into English - It is a transliteration of his Hebrew name "Jehoshua" (Joshua). - "Jehoshua" = “God is salvation”; "Jesus" = “God is Savior” * There were 2 Prominent Joshua’s in Israel’s history: 1) The Captain (after Moses) - led the Jews into Promised land 2) In Zechariah - the High Priest that led the Jews BACK into the land after 70 years of Babylonian captivity… * God decides to NAME His Son “Jehoshua”- Joshua TODAY - we want to see what these TWO Joshua’s teach us about The NEW Joshua / Jesus!

#6 Amazing Law

Amazing Grace Series • December 10, 2017 • Mike Matijevich

The Law is AMAZING… According to Jewish Tradition.. 3 Systems of Law delivered to the Jews: 1. Judicial- civil policy 603 laws (governed conduct between men, offenses & penalties) 2. Ceremonial- a) dietary b) sacrifices - determined ecclesiastical polity 3. Moral- basically 10 commandments (total 613 commandments)
 * Jesus reduced them in 1 word- LOVE (This brings us to Christ: 1. By convicting us of our sin- guilt 2. By revealing our peril- hell 3. By its weakness through the flesh to save from death. Note: When we are saved Jesus writes the LAW in our hearts. Today's message to you- Why God uses the Law: * For Old Testament Jews the Law was the ONLY way to relate to God until Jesus showed up.
 * John 1:14 “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
Four Purposes of the Law for us today: 1. The Law is a MASTER. Galatians 3:24-25 2. The Law is a MIRROR. James 1:23-25 3. The Law is a MAP. Psalm 119:105 4. The Law is a Measure. Matthew 5:5

November 26, 2017 • Chris Hartzer

Question: Is salvation amazing? Quote: "Salvation is the single greatest benefit any human being could receive." Salvation is eternal: past, present, future - it covers all ours sins to make us righteous before God. Note: "Without a firm understanding of what happened to a believer at the moment of salvation, that believer will struggle with living in the power and reality of their salvation." Pastor Chris addresses 1) Do you have real biblical salvation and or 2) If you do- is it still amazing to you?

#3 God's Amazing Immutability

November 19, 2017 • Mike Matijevich

IMMUTABILITY- is the inability to CHANGE! (A GOOD thing; God cannot change, He is PERFECT (No need to change!) Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Definition of Grace: “Grace is the Unmerited, Undeserved, Unearned kindness and favor of God.” (That is what Grace is…) Today- What “Grace” does. Two things that cannot change: 1. Jesus is our High Priest forever! KEY VERSE: Hebrews 6:20 “Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.” 2. Jesus is our Mediator of the New Covenant forever! (This will NEVER change!) KEY VERSE: Hebrews 8:6 “But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.”

#2 God's Amazing Righteousness

November 12, 2017 • Chris Hartzer

* To truly value the importance of this topic we must lay aside our “head” knowledge of the Scriptures and listen with our “Heart!” (James 1:22-25) Man’s willful deception * What is righteousness? "Righteousness is to be in right standing with God." Question: Does a person become righteous by doing right things or is a person righteous because God made him? II. God’s amazing gift of righteousness (Romans 4: 1- 5) Application: Peace is yours to be had if you will allow yourself to fully embrace the grace of God! Intimacy with Christ is yours to be had if you will allow yourself to fully embrace the grace of God!

#1 What's So Amazing About Grace?

Amazing Grace • November 5, 2017 • Mike Matijevich

One of the elements of a GREAT STORY is CONFLICT! I don’t know if I can prove this, BUT maybe the greater the CONFLICT the greater the story, or the effect of the story. DARK CONDITIONS - Sin in Human Nature creates conflict with God... CONFLICT… MAKES what Grace can do so Great to reconcile us to God. This series will go for 8 weeks don't miss out.
