THE HEART OF THE MATTER

TRADITIONAL WORSHIP | OCTOBER 3

October 3, 2021 • ANDREW THOMPSON • Mark 10:2–16

So, in today’s reading, we see that the Pharisees threw out a gotcha-style question that seemed to ignore women’s social situation in the day. We also saw that the disciples were mainly concerned with whom Jesus spent his time with. Doesn’t that all seem so weird and off-balance! There were people in need and people in Jesus’ inner circle, and the religious leaders of the day were ignoring them! How often do we see these kinds of off-balance priorities or even feel pressured to carry them ourselves?
