FINDING THE LOST

REJOICE! WORSHIP | MAR 27

March 27, 2022 • Luke 5:11–32, Luke 15:1–3

In the parable of the lost sheep, there were 100 sheep. The Bible doesn’t say why one is lost. Just that it was lost, maybe they didn’t like the music, or the worship time, or something, they just wandered off… Economically it doesn’t make sense for the shepherd to leave the 99 and search for the one. Financially it doesn’t make sense to get the lost one. But when you think about it, all 100 sheep don’t belong to him, and his master was coming. Look at it this way. If the master came and the shepherd didn’t have all 100, he could be accused of stealing or selling the one. He must have figured, “My reputation is on the line. My life is on the line because the master is coming.” And he finds it, and he rejoices.
